About This Event
Join the Sabinal Chamber of Commerce for the annual Chili Cook-Off during the Wild Hog Festival in Sabinal, Texas! This lively community event takes place Saturday, March 28 under the pavilion at Veterans Memorial Live Oak Park and brings together chili cooks, families, and visitors for a full day of food, entertainment, and friendly competition.
Cook teams can sign up beginning at 9:00 AM, with judging at 3:00 PM. Entry is $30 per team, and teams may consist of 1–3 members. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Worst, and Taster’s Choice, and every team goes home with something.
All chili must be cooked on-site, and competition rules include no beans, no fillers, and no pre-packaged seasoning mixes.
Visitors can enjoy a full day of activities including live entertainment, Chicken Poop Bingo, and a silent auction. Gates open at 9:00 AM, with entertainment beginning at 11:00 AM. Admission is $5, and children 5 and under are free.
