Utopia, TX is a small town in Uvalde County, Texas, with a population of just over 200 people. It is located in the Texas Hill Country, about 80 miles northwest of San Antonio. The town was founded in 1876 and was originally named Montana. However, the name was changed to Utopia in 1880 by postmaster George Barker, who thought the name more accurately reflected the town’s peaceful and idyllic setting.

Sabinal is a town in Uvalde County, Texas, with a population of about 1,300 people. It is located in the Texas Hill Country, about 75 miles southwest of San Antonio. The town was founded in 1854 and was originally named Hammer’s Station, after Thomas B. Hammer, who established a stage stop there. The name was changed to Sabinal in 1881, after the Sabinal River, which runs through the town.
